“Chile Argentina Boat Trip”
Pucón - San Martín de los Andes

"Chile Argentina Boat Trip" is a new tourist product, run by In-Out Patagonia, linking two
important tourist centers - the cities of Pucón in Chile and San Martin de los Andes in Argentina, crossing the Andean Mountain Range at the Hua-Hum international border crossing.

It is a spectacular full-day excursion combining overland and lake transfers and sailing
on beautiful mountain lakes in the 9th Region of Chile and the Province of Neuquen in
Argentina.

The starting point is the beautiful city of Pucón on the shores of Lake Villarica, where one boards comfortable tour buses to drive to Puerto Fuy along mountain roads. On the way, there is a visit to the town of Lican Ray on the Shores of Calafquen Lake followed by Panguipulli and further on, the waterfalls of the Huilo Huilo nature reserve, one of the biggest ecological reserves in the country. This first overland crossing ends at Puerto Fuy on the shores of Pirihueico Lake.

In Puerto Fuy one boards a ferry and after one and a half hours sailing reaches Puerto
Pirihueico in the midst of the Andean Mountain range. Just ten minutes overland from there is the Chilean Customs post at Hua Hum where one goes through the migration procedures for leaving the country, and three kilometers further on is the Argentine Customs post where one goes through the entry procedures to the neighboring country.
Muelle Chacin, located on Nonthué Lake, is just a few minutes overland from the Argentine customs post. Here one boards the Lancha Patagonia to sail on the Nonthué and Lacar lakes with a stop over at Santa Teresita Island, arriving in Puerto Lacar in the city of San Martin de los Andes after two hours sailing. This enriching and
fascinating crossing from Pucón to San Martin de los Andes takes about 11 hours.
The trip program includes: Pucón-Puerto Fuy overland transfer with a visit
to the Huilo Huilo waterfall.

One and a half hour sailing on the Hua Hum ferry to Puerto Pirihueico.

Continuation of the trip by bus to Muelle Chachín on Nonthué Lake, going through Chilean and Argentine customs procedures.

Two hours sailing on the launch “Patagonia I” on Nonthué and Lacar Lakes. Stopover at Santa Teresita Island with a short walk. Coffee on board the launch. Arrival in San Martín de los Andes.

Those who wish to return to the city of Pucón can opt for a program that includes a night’s lodging in San Martin to return overland the next day through the Tromen - Mamuil Malal pass at the foot of the Lanín Volcano.
